How does battery storage affect an EPC?

UK RdSAP 10 recognises PV battery storage. Any rating change depends on the property, solar system, metering and assessment rules. PV-independent storage is not included in that assessment, so tariff shifting alone is not an EPC measure. An accredited assessor must confirm whether the proposed installation qualifies and improves the rating. Other countries use their own methods.

What could your battery fleet make possible?

What exactly is a virtual power plant?

A group of batteries spread across different homes that one operator steers as a whole through software. Nothing is physically connected; each battery stays in its home. Pooled, they can meet the minimum size to take part in flexibility markets or relieve a local constraint.

How fast does the fleet respond?

Response requirements depend on the programme and market. We validate end-to-end performance, connectivity and availability within the project. Services such as FCR and aFRR require the relevant qualification and market arrangements.

How does this relate to smart charging and V2G?

They complement each other. Cars provide flexibility only while plugged in; a home battery stays home while the car is away and works within the home connection at up to 800 W per master.

Can an employer offer a home battery to employees?

Yes, through group purchase or an employer contribution. The scheme aligns with your employer policy and local conditions; tax treatment of privately used company assets needs separate confirmation.

Does this help with grid congestion?

It can, when control is coordinated on the local constraint rather than on national prices alone. Grid location, topology and the control strategy determine the effect, which is why projects start with a defined group of homes and a measurement phase.

What does participation earn a household?

Lower bills from storing solar surplus or charging when prices are low, plus a share of flexibility income where the project includes it. Amounts depend on tariff, location and programme.

Can a project connect to existing systems?

Yes. REST API, webhook events, an MCP server and dashboards connect the fleet to your VPP, CRM and support tooling.

Can the platform support CO₂ reporting?

Energy data can provide input for sustainability and CO₂ reporting. We agree the reporting scope, emissions factors and methodology with your team or reporting partner. GHG Protocol and ESRS E1 are reference frameworks; storage alone is not proof of avoided emissions.

Can a battery improve a property’s EPC rating?

In suitable homes, recognised solar battery storage may contribute to an improved rating. The result is specific to the property, installation and national assessment method. An accredited assessor should validate the proposal. We consider EPC potential alongside resident energy costs and ongoing portfolio reporting.
